Psalm 45 My heart is stilled
Listen on Spotify, Amazon or Apple Music NOW Dec 2024
My heart is stilled by this most noble a thing,
As I recite these verses to you the king.
My tongue is skilled, my pen writes words that are true,
For you are most excellent of men.

For your fine lips have been anointed with grace,
And God has blessed you since you came to this place.
Gird up your sword, right by your side, mighty one;
Clothe yourself with majesty and splendour.

And in your majesty ride victoriously.
Ride on behalf of truth and humility,
And in your righteousness, let your right hand show, Awesome deeds amongst the realm of men.

Let your sharp arrows pierce the hearts of enemies.
Let the nations fall beneath your feet O king.
Let the nations fall beneath your feet.

Your throne O God will last eternity through;
Justice maintained, a kingly sceptre that’s true.
For you love righteousness and wickedness hate,
Therefore God, your God has raised you high.

He has anointed you with oil of great joy.
Your robes with fragrant spices you can enjoy.
All of your palaces with ivory are filled;
Music of the strings, will make you glad.

And the daughters of kings are with your honoured ones.
At your right hand your bride is dressed in finest gold.
Your bride she is dressed in finest gold.

Listen of daughter and take heed, give an ear.
Forget your father’s house, your future is here.
For by your beauty our great king is enthralled.
Honour him for he is your great Lord.

In broidered garments she is led to the king.
Into his presence her companions she brings.
They’re led with gladness, there’s joy in their hearts,
As they enter to the palace ground.

Your sons will follow, take their place where you stand.
You’ll make them princes, known throughout all the land.
I’ll keep this memory through all time to come;
Therefore all the nations will praise you.

All of the nations they will praise your name.
All of the nations they will praise your name.
Praise your name!
